It's that time of year, where we get
the opportunity to celebrate the months of sacrifice,
commitment and the very hard work of our JHS Wrestling team!
We are excited to announce that we will be having a fabulous
buffet style dinner, to be followed by a cake & awards
ceremony!
WHEN: Wednesday, February 29th
WHERE: Shawn O'Donnell's American
Grill & Irish Pub, located at 112 128th St. S.E., Everett,
WA 98208
TIME: 6 pm Dinner is served, 7pm Cake
& Awards
COST: Wrestlers are paid for by the
JHS Booster Club. Family members attending dinner only pay
$12 per person (tax & gratuity included). No cost for family
members only attending cake & awards ceremony.
MENU: Lasagna,
Chicken Fettuccine, Caesar Salad, Garlic Bread, Soda,
Coffee, Water

I have to confirm
an accurate headcount with O'Donnell's by Friday, February
24th. Your help with this will be greatly appreciated, I
want to make certain we have enough for all attending!
Families can pay for their dinners at the restaurant on the
evening of the banquet. If, unfortunately, something comes
up, family members will have until Monday the 27th to cancel
a "yes for dinner" previous commitment, at no charge.

all on the 29th!

Coach Anaya would like to try and get
wrestlers to attend the following camp this summer.
Washington Intensive Camp, July 8-14th.

Freestyle/Greco Link to the left. Coach Anaya would like to
have wrestlers do club wrestling. Rhinos Wrestling club is
where the coaching staff will travel to and help out there.

The Timberwolves just
completed their first step towards state and the post
season. Jackson qualified 3 for regionals and one alternate.
Leading the way was Hector Morrell who finished 4th at 195
pounds. Also qualifying for regionals was Bryan Stringfellow,
5th @ 145. Jeffrey Stephan was 6th @ 160. Stephan will need
to win a pig tail match to get it and be a regional
competitor. Nolan Reese finished 7th and will be an
alternate.
Jackson had 10 wrestlers make it into the
second day and who scored team points for Jackson who
finished 9th at districts.
There is practice Monday, 2/6/12, at 2:45 pm.
Gear turn in will begin this week. Please be sure all
gear has been washed and turn it in to avoid any fines.
1/15/12
Congrats to those who placed at the Everett Classic. Leading
the way for the Varsity was Bryan Stringfellow who brought
home a 1st place medal at 145 pounds. Also placing were
Nolan Reese, 3rd, and Jeffrey Stephan who finished 5th.
The JV placers were Cade Christiansen, Alex Roberts, Derek
Bell, and Jacob Shepard who all finished first in their
weight class round robin bracket.
1/8/12
Some schedule changes are in effect this week.
The Stanwood match that was canceled in December will be
wrestled this week.
Coach Anaya
has also made changes to this weekend's tournament. We will
be attending the Everett Classic that will be held at JHS.
Both varsity and JV will be wrestling. The tournament begins
at 9 am.
1/7/12
Jackson ended a busy week of wrestling after returning from
winter break. They began the week with a home dual against
Kamiak. Despite losing by a score of 27-54, the Wolves won
more head to head matches among those that were wrestled.
Those earning points were Jordan Funston, Bryan Stringfellow,
Nolan Reese, Jeffrey Stephan, and Hector Morrell.
The Wolves wrestled at Mariner and lost 23-42. Those earning
wins were Funston, Ben O'Neal, Reese (pin), Stephan (Tech
Fall), and Morrell (pin).
Jackson finished their
weekend at the Edmonds District Invite. Ten teams were at
the tournament and Jackson finished in 8th place. Those that
placed 5th were Jordan Funston, Brian Stringfellow, Nolan
Reese, and Hector Morrell. Leading the way was Jeffrey
Stephan who won his second tournament of the year. He
defeated his opponent in the finals by a score of 10-3.
1/3/12
Winter break is finally over and the Wolves
will head to the mat this week on Wednesday at home against
Kamiak, away at Mariner on Friday, and then travel to the
Edmonds District Invite (varsity only).
Wrestling
gear was handed out today at practice. Check with coach
Anaya to see if there are any extras. Sizes are limited and
will be on a first come first served bases.
Standwood dual has been rescheduled
for January 10, at Stanwood. See calendar for times.
12//17/11
The varsity team had a great day at the Lynnwood Classic.
Despite only having 7 wrestlers at the tournament, the team
finished 5th out of 10 teams. All 7 placed in the top 5 and
all scored team points. At the end of the day, the
Timberwolves recorded 12 pins and 2 major decisions. Out of
the 19 wins we had, we earned 14 first takedowns.
Congrats to Jordan Funston (3rd), Issaac Dickerson (4th),
Ben O'neal (3rd), Bryan Stringfellow (4th), Nolan Reese
(4th), Jeffrey Stephan (3rd) and Hector Morrell (5th) on a
great day of wrestling. Jeffrey Stephan was also voted by
all the coaches for the Sportsmanship Award.
The JV
team had a great day at the Everett JV tournament. Leading
the way were Hunter Saunders, Alex Roberts, Colton Crenshaw
and Andrew Romero who all finished first.
12/14/11
The JV tournament starts at 9 am on Saturday and not 9:30
am.
Also, booster club fundraiser will be December
23rd, from 2-8 pm at Fred Meyer.
12/13/11
Due to a scheduling
mishap, Thursday's dual against Stanwood has been canceled.
It may be rescheduled for a later date.
Jackson varsity will be at the Lynnwood Classic while the JV
team will be at the Everett JV Invite.
Winter practice schedule has been
updated. Due to gym availability, we will be going really
early during December 20th-22nd. See calendar for times.
12/10/11
Jackson finishes 4th at the Scoop Invite. Leading the way
was Jeffrey Stephan who was the lone champion for the
Wolves. Jordan Funston finished 2nd. Jackson had 7 placers
and 13 pins on the day. Click here for

Coach Anaya would like to say thanks to the booster club
board members, all parent volunteers, JHS DECA, Dave

12/8/11
Jackson loses their first home dual of the
year 24-46. Those winning by pin were Everett Klevin, Nolan
Reese, and Josh Blackwell.
Coach Anaya said, "It was
really good to see the young freshman and first year
wrestlers step in and wrestle hard. We are a young team that
needs work, but has a bright future. We will not be the team
we are now at the end of the season. We will be much
better!"
SCHEDULE CHANGE
There is study club on Friday,
December 9th. We will set up after the conclusion of
practice, around 5:30 for the SCOOP Invite. The booster club
will be providing sandwiches, fruit and water for dinner.
12/6/11
Thanks to Run26 for taking the time to help our wrestling
team. Only a few showed up. Coach was hoping more people
would show up. The owner has agreed to still provide a shoe
discount of 15% if you go in and tell them you are part of
the wrestling team. They will analyze your stride and
recommend/fit you into a good pair of running shoes.
Another varsity tournament has been
added to the schedule. The varsity team will be attending
the Lynnwood Classic on December 17th. Wrestling begins at
10 am.
12/4/11
Nolan Reese finishes 4th at the Auburn invite. Reese was
Jackson's only placer for varsity. As a team, the varsity
finished 8th out of 10 team.
The JV team had a a
couple of placers. They were Hunter Saunders (2nd) and Isaac
Dickerson (4th).
Attention parents...we need your
help volunteering for the SCOOP Invite this coming weekend
at JHS. Please contact Coach Anaya to see where you can
help.
12/2/11
Jackson lost their first two duals of the season to
Shorecrest, 30-48, and Shorewood, 24-47. Jeffrey Stephan
(170) and Jordan Funston (106) were the only two wrestlers
to win both of their matches.
The Wolves will travel
to Auburn for the Auburn Invite.
12/1/11
No pre practice on Friday, 12/2/11. No study
club Monday, 12/5/11.
11/30/11

Run26 will be offering a running/shoe clinic for JHS
Wrestlers and their families. The clinic will be on
Tuesday, December 6th, at 7 pm. In addition to the clinic,
Run26 will also be offering 15% off discount on shoes. Coach
Anaya encourages all wrestlers to have running shoes for
training during wrestling season. The store is located in
the Mill Creek Towncenter.
Coach Anaya will accept an
final gear order forms by Thursday, December 1st. Please get
them to him ASAP.
